The Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District has coordinated efforts with its staff to largely reduce the number of employees working in person at its Lancaster office, following guidelines to reduce gatherings, substantially increase social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19/coronavirus.

Beginning March 19 through at least May 15, most personnel will perform the essential functions of their positions remotely. AVAQMD is committed to the safety of its staff, permit-holders, residents and stakeholders, and this effort allows the District to continue operating according to its authority under the Health and Safety Code of the State of California.

As staff works remotely, the District will maintain constant monitoring of ambient air quality, working to reduce emissions.
